Five Questions for Veronika Hämmerle
How did you come to the topics of sustainability and transformation?
Early travels showed me the great differences in people's living conditions and made it clear that prosperity in wealthy countries often comes at the expense of people and the environment. Since then, the question of how we can design our daily lives and economy to be sustainable for everyone has not let me go.
Which aspect of sustainable business is underestimated in your opinion?
The shaping power of individuals is often underestimated. Sustainability is quickly thought of as top-down, but the greatest dynamic emerges when employees feel that their actions make a difference.
What drives you in your work for sustainable transformation?
I am motivated to see that change is possible and that there are role models we can orient ourselves by. At the same time, I am driven by the thought that I myself can make a concrete contribution that moves something.
How does peer consulting work for you and what does it bring to clients?
Sustainability is complex and nobody can cover all facets alone. That's why exchange with fellow colleagues is central to me. Peer consulting brings different perspectives and enables solutions that are better tailored to clients' individual challenges.
How do you envision sustainable business in 10 years?
Sustainable business will be the standard. Companies balance not only financially but also ecologically and socially. Supply chains are transparent, resources circulate in cycles. Sustainability is no longer seen as an obligation but as an innovation driver and competitive advantage.
