Five Questions for Vera Pichler
How did you come to the topics of sustainability and transformation?
I started my career, quite classically, in management consulting. At the beginning, however, I was dealing with process management. Although I was able to learn a lot, the question of how business can be made more ecological and fair did not let me go. That's how I ended up in sustainable development.
Which aspect of sustainable business is underestimated in your opinion?
I think that opportunity and risk management in terms of sustainable development is still underestimated. With an honest and data-based look at opportunities and risks, companies could strengthen their market position and at the same time derive measures to anchor sustainability well in the organization.
When do you experience real breakthrough moments in transformation processes?
I love it when aha moments appear with clients in projects - small or large. It's always exciting to see how our external inputs combined with the existing knowledge in the organization lead to new insights that also bring about changes.
What makes teamwork different from traditional consulting structures?
What distinguishes our collaboration in the network is on the one hand the great flexibility, but above all also the extensive knowledge. Together we cover a variety of topics from management systems to reporting to women's health. What's special about it? The networked thinking and linking of approaches.
What sustainability topic would you like to work on more intensively?
I would like to continue to take a comprehensive, systemic view of sustainable development. To position myself even better for this, my next step is training in positive psychology. I find it exciting to integrate social aspects more strongly into projects and thus make even more of an impact.
