Five Questions for Julia Beißwenger
What combination of your expertise makes you special?
I combine solid know-how in diversity, anti-discrimination, and social justice with a strong focus on health, well-being, and New Work. As a systemic coach, I also integrate approaches from stress management, breathing, nutrition, and the nervous system. This combination allows me to support organizations holistically – with an eye for structural changes as well as individual development and healthy work cultures.
Which aspect of sustainable business is underestimated in your opinion?
An often underestimated aspect of sustainable business is the role of diversity and inclusion. Social sustainability is a central component of a future-proof economy. Companies that promote diversity and reduce discrimination not only create fairer structures but also demonstrably increase innovation, problem-solving skills, and resilience.
When do you experience real breakthrough moments in transformation processes?
I experience real breakthrough moments in transformation processes when people begin to question their perspectives – often in workshops, consultations, or discourses. When someone recognizes "I never thought about that" or "I had a blind spot there", a space for change suddenly opens up.
What do you value about working in an interdisciplinary team?
What I particularly value about interdisciplinary teams is the diversity of perspectives, experiences, and approaches. When people with different professional backgrounds come together, new thinking spaces, creative solutions, and real innovation emerge.
What opportunity for socially just business do others not yet see?
A great opportunity that is often overlooked is the transformative power of truly lived inclusion and diversity – diversity that goes beyond mere representation and creates structural equality.
